It is a pleasure to be the pastor of Our Lady of Mt Carmel and  a sincere pleasure to welcome all of my cyber friends and parishioners.  Thank you for exploring our website where you can find a lot of good information about us.  Since you have shown an interest in us, I ask that you allow me the opportunity to share a little bit about the community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Church and School.

We are a parish which has a great history of caring and ministering to the people on the South East side of Houston. Our Parochial school has held high standards for over 55 years and still provides a quality education with Catholic principles.

Our parish was founded by the Carmelite Fathers that for many years were leaders of this community and left us a valuable inheritance of the evangelization.  Fr. Sean Wenger, c.c.  and the Companions of the Cross. continued to work to keep this evangelization growing.  July 1, 2011, our community began a new era.  Our Lady of Mt. Carmel became a parish of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and being led by myself, the first Diocesan priest.  Just as the wonderful priests before me, I will  to continue the tradition of the invaluable evangelization that this community has had.

The word Mt. Carmel signifies “God’s Vineyard” and according to the bible:

Mt. Carmel is widely known as a sacred Mountain.  In its origin for jews, Christians, and esenios, it is a place that has influenced the naming of other important places and religious movements.

The name of Mt. Carmel has also been used in many types of literature around the world. Many other mountains and places have been named after the original sacred mountain.

We are Mt. Carmel, the Holy Mountain of God.  Every one of us embraces and loves our church and we are part of the history of  people who century after century continued to love God and followed the Blessed Virgin of Mt. Carmel.  I invite you to become part of this community and not only by visiting us on the web but by exploring the possibility of registering as a parishioner and becoming an active member of this parish, which needs you to spiritually embellish this great garden God has created, “Mt. Carmel”
